Yeah it's such an issue in the dev world. And that experience you had with the VIPER spaghetti, that's the same way I feel. People try to force growing code to fit a pattern and it only messes things up.

And what you experienced on StackOverflow is the problem. People get so stuck on the pattern they forget about the purpose of the pattern. I mean, of course you can leave the pattern, if that's what's necessary for good code.
